As another winter approaches I am encouraging an effort to establish a Ham Radio connection in the Diocese of Tyler.  I pray that we don't have another experience like the Deep Freeze of February 2021 but it is good to be prepared. I honestly know little about Ham Radio but I do understand that it is a good communication tool when the usual communications that we have become accustomed to are not available. It seems wise to network those who are already involved in Ham Radio and encourage others to become involved if they are so inclined. My goal is to have at least one Ham Radio operator available in each of our 33 counties in case of an emergency. Catholic parishioners who are involved in Ham Radio are asked to call our diocesan offices at 903 534 1077 and share there information so that we can establish a database of Ham Radio users in the diocese.

Thank you for your attention to this effort.
